The Cotswolds represent England’s traditional villages.....market squares surrounded by colourful shops with antiques, knitwear, bags, jewellery, decor, crafts, amazing bookshops, etc as well as many famous towns and villages such as Stratford on Avon and Cheltenham.
Picturesque golden stone houses with slate roofs often higgeldy piggledy with age, or beautifully done thatch roofs depending on the area, are fronted by cottage gardens crammed with a cacophony of colourful plants while climbing roses, clematis, honeysuckle and other lively creepers and climbers spread their flower laden stems over houses, fences and anything else that will support them.
They all add to the gorgeous storybook appeal. Driving along the narrow country lanes through fields of garish yellow rape, green paddocks edged with wild flowers where horses and cows graze on the rich emerald grass.....you can imagine the many TV identities filming. The Cotswolds are a popular filming spot with everything from Harry Potter to Miss Marples filmed here.
Lower Slaughter is equally as pretty, but a little smaller and has no particular features that attract large numbers of visitors.
