Riyad Dar Nouba - An Oasis in the Medina
Part of the experience of Morocco is staying in the Riyads with many with jewel like colourful décor, courtyards, gardens and that truly exotic feel. Our room had a wonderful Moroccan ambiance. Dar Nouba had very tasteful decor using traditional ornaments, fabrics, rugs and furniture.
We enjoyed a bottle of icy cold water at the tiled table, pleased to rest a while, choosing to stay here most of the night catching up on emails etc. It had been a long day. We can explore tomorrow.
We had booked to have our first meal at the Riyad. Dinner was the first of many tajines to come! Starting with veges.....broad beans done in an interesting traditional spice mix and carrots were also cooked differently to any we have ever had. The tajine was filling kofta which is like mince meat balls. We finished with a really delicious fruit salad ........a popular dessert in Morocco.
Visiting Morocco is a dream Brian has had for years…for me it was a return trip, though I only saw the north. So we were excited to have finally arrived.
